Historical Highlights in This Video:

Bath Abbey: Standing on a site of worship that dates back over 1,200 years, the current "Great Church" is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. Look closely at the West Front to see the famous "Ladders of Angels," inspired by a dream of Bishop Oliver King in 1499.

The Royal Crescent: Designed by John Wood the Younger and built between 1767 and 1774, this is one of the greatest examples of Georgian architecture in the world. Its 30 Grade I listed houses form a massive semi-circle overlooking Royal Victoria Park.

Pulteney Bridge & Weir: Completed by 1774, this Palladian-style bridge is one of only four in the world with shops built across its entire span on both sides. It was built to connect the city with the new development of Bathwick.

Parade Gardens: These Grade II listed "pleasure grounds" were originally laid out in 1709. They sit on the site of the medieval Abbey Orchard and offer the best views of the River Avon and Pulteney Weir.

Victorian Arcades: Beyond the grand landmarks, the city center is filled with historic shopping passages and corridors, like the Guildhall Market area, where local trade has thrived for centuries.
