The workshop began with a warm and engaging welcome by Ms. Sadiya Fuggawala, Assistant Professor at MMBGIMS, who set a positive and enthusiastic tone for the day. She delivered an introductory address that included a brief overview of the institute’s history and its commitment to academic excellence. This was followed by the formal opening of the workshop by Dr. Vidya Hattangadi, who laid a strong foundation with a session on research ethics. Dr. Vidya Hattangadi opened the workshop by providing a comprehensive foundation on research ethics. The session explored the fundamental principles of ethical research, including informed consent, confidentiality, avoidance of bias, and data integrity. She highlighted real-world case studies to demonstrate ethical dilemmas and engaged participants in discussions on navigating such challenges responsibly. Emphasis was placed on UGC guidelines and international ethical standards for scholars.

Participants found the session to be intellectually stimulating and highly relevant. Many appreciated Dr. Hattangadi's ability to simplify complex ethical constructs through relatable examples. The interactive nature of the session kept engagement levels high and encouraged self-reflection among researchers regarding their academic practices.
