Chelsea Kurtz & Ellis Hooper spent about 6 weeks working on this scene -- today we focus on Yelena's monologue that reveals her feelings about Astrov at the end of Act II. Chekhov's powerful circumstances -- an illness in the house, a sleepless night, a storm -- conspire to create an emotional springboard for these characters: the women let loose with recriminations, reconciliations & their most secret longings. Here, Chekhov once again creates a canvas where actors can use every possible color, in a scene that demands nothing less than the full range of your talent.
