Tiger Sighting in Ranthambore National Park in Monsoons | Tiger Safari

5 TIGERS IN ONE SAFARI - We took this trip to Ranthambore National Park on July 3rd, 2020. Despite the rain, we were lucky to spot 5 tigers in a single safari. Zones 1 to 5 in Ranthambore National Park are closed during Monsoons from July 1 to September 30. However, Zone 6 to 10 are open for tourists. Currently, Zone 6 is considered to be one of the best zones in Ranthambore to spot a tiger. Watching a tiger in the wild is a treat to eyes and a perfect getaway from the hustle bustle of the city life.

A few famous tigers from Ranthambore currently are Laadli (T-8), Kumbha (T-34), Rocky (T-58), Noor (T-39), Arrowhead (T-84). These are all dominant in their respective territories. However, due to lack of enough space for more than 65 tigers in the park, the territorial fights among them are common. This has led to death of many tigers and cubs in the park. The Forest Department has started shifting tigers to other National Parks like Mukundhara Hills Tiger Reserve, Sariska National Park etc. to avoid more such incidents.

Tigers are highly solitary animals and need an area of around 40-80 square kilometers as their territory. Male tigers are known to kill young cubs of other tigers in order to force the tigress to mate with them again. Nevertheless, Ranthambore is one of the best Tiger Reserves in the country and only the unluckiest are known to return from the park without spotting a Tiger.
