RuPaul Discloses Why He'd 'Never' Go Into Politics Despite Playing a President in New Drag Movie

On Thursday, May 28, RuPaul said on The View that he has no interest in public office, citing limits on progress and why it matters to his work. Promoting Stop! That! Train!, where he plays President Gagwell, RuPaul told the co-hosts that government gridlock and corporate agendas hinder outcomes. He said some officials “go to line their pockets,” adding he would not be that kind of president in the film. The discussion also touched on support for the transgender community.
