K1 Speed Challenge Grand Prix ( GP ) from Ontario, CA on September 4, 2016. Best lap of the main – 0:28.439 (Kart 14). Best lap of the night – 0:28.095 (Kart 36).

Check out this video of some super fast indoor go kart racing at K1 Speed! In lieu of a Sunday Night Grand Prix at MB2 Raceway in Sylmar, CA, I decided to take a trip down to K1 Speed in Ontario, CA to participate in their monthly Challenge Grand Prix. This is the closest K1 facility to my home (about 90 minutes away), so it was my first time visiting. Did one race prior to the GP; got a very sketchy kart. Twitchy steering with grabby brakes. Started to get the hang of the track during qualifying, ultimately running a 28.095 lap putting me in 4th on the grid. The main started off well; I made a pass into third 5 laps into the race, but would eventually be passed twice before the race was over. Looking at the lap times, I think the kart may have been slightly down on top speed, in addition to some small mistakes on my part. Still, had a good time and got to talk to a few folks. Will try to make the trip down as I can for some more racing.
