Rapier vs Sabre Sparring Nick vs Adam

A lightweight and fairly short rapier being used against a sabre. By the time sabres become popular in northern Europe, the rapier was evolving into a smaller and lighter weapon and transitioning into the smallsword.

(Nick is using the Rapier, a custom made up from the Hanwei sharp Taza Cup hilt and a blunted blade from a Hanwei Gustav to make a later period light rapier. The sabre being used by Adam is from Peter Regenyei and is made to match a British 19th century type. Sabres in use during the late period time would typically be a little heavier and with less hand protection (stirrup hilts instead of bowls), but this is a close representation.
