Allen Muhammad (aged 41) and Lee Boyd Malvo (17) perpetrated twenty-three well-planned, random shootings that caused fifteen deaths and held Washington D.C. hostage in 2002. For the increasingly violent family man, it may have been repayment to a society that removed him from his beloved children; for the abused and abandoned boy, it was a way to honor someone who finally looked after him and gave him purpose.
