Johnstown Flood and Dam Collapse that occurred on May 31,1889 that took 2209 souls. The Greatest Catastrophe in the United States up to that point.
Johnstown is located in southwestern Pennsylvania, an industrial steel mill town.

The dam breach occurred in the year 1862 that was eventually repaired by the Southfork Fishing and Hunting Club.

In this video, I explain the reason for the collapsed dam that flooded Johnstown and killed 2209 people. I also provide my observations and recommendations on how to avoid structural failures.
I was born in Johnstown and raised in the town of Ebensburg, 15 miles to the north of the Dam.
