In this video we will discuss how the PCB trace characteristic impedance is
determined by its geometry. We will see how matching the driver to trace
impedance can impact the rise time, overshoot, and ringing on digital
communications signals. This is important because the overshoot and ringing
can create noise problems that impacts sensitive analog and, in some cases,
can even cause digital communications issues.
