Heat-shield technology - Keep temperatures low during TR

EV battery thermal barrier materials: a fabric coated with a silicone elastomer from our ELASTOSIL® CM series was tested as a heat shield in this TP test (cylindrical cell 46101 | 253 Wh/kg | high Ni content | 100% SOC).
Temperatures in the venting channels rose to 1,300 °C. Temperatures on the rear surface of the heat shield reached only 95 °C. Under TR, the ELASTOSIL® CM series works as both a thermal and a mechanical barrier.
