According to reports, Starikova is of Serbian descent and has been wanted by Ukrainians since 2014.

It was claimed that Starikova was a sniper in the 11th Special Operations Division. Starikova's past is filled with reports claiming to be a former handball player named Daniela Lazovic, who has a criminal record for drug trafficking.
