Beartown State Park

This remote state park on the border of Pocahontas & Greenbrier counties in West Virginia is a gem! 💎 It offers a short half-mile stroll along a boardwalk through massive boulders of varying sizes and shapes. Beartown derives its name from residents who claim that the cave-like openings in the rocks made excellent winter dens for local black bears.

The park is located approximately 19 miles south of Marlinton, WV along WV Rt. 219. There are two parking areas, restroom facilities and several picnic tables available. The park is open April-October. 🌷☀️🍁
