Should Daniel Ricciardo Regret Leaving Red Bull?

Daniel Ricciardo took a gamble when he left Red Bull in 2018. The Red Bull team, at the time, were building themselves around Max Verstappen - the driver that they saw as the future of that outfit. Ricciardo, being 29 years old made a decision that rolled the dice on his future in the sport and whether he would ever be able to compete for a world championship.

Since this time, Ricciardo has moved to Renault and now onto McLaren where he is struggling to find his feet. Whereas Red Bull have had a turbulent period, particularly when looking for a second driver to replace him. But this season, the team have excelled and are ready and in a position to compete for the world championship.

So is Ricciardo missing out on that golden opportunity, or would it have not worked out for the Australian driver when the team is build around Verstappen?
