The Battle of Shiloh was a turning point in the Civil War. It signaled to both North and South that the war would not be short and it would not be bloodless. By night on April 6, 1862, after one day of fighting, the Confederate Army pushed back the Union Army of the Tennessee to Pittsburg Landing, but Ulysses S. Grant was quickly gaining reinforcements and would give battle to the Southerners the next morning. This video depicts the first day of the Battle of Shiloh in an animated battle map form.
