Dad Pays Off Lunch Debt at Daughter's Middle School

Some kids don't get a hot lunch at school because of their school lunch debt. When Shawn Bumgardner heard that was the case for some of the kids at his daughter's middle school, he reached into his own pockets to pay off all the account balances, WDJT reported. But student lunch debt remains a huge problem across America, and 75 percent of school districts had unpaid meal debt at the end of the 2016-2017 school year, according to the School Nutrition Association.
