Dynamic Stretches for Recovery

Coming off a marathon, a long run or even a half marathon, the legs may be screaming at you the next day.

We know rest is necessary but what else can you do to facilitate recovery?

Encouraging blood flow without causing any additional muscle breakdown is the goal. Once such activity is dynamic stretching.

These stretches are low impact and gentle. Great for easing soreness and stiffness.

Most important with these recovery stretches: move slow and with your breath. Breathing deeply helps us to relax the muscles and improve circulation for better recovery.

Try these out for any sore areas and get on the road to better recovery!

Gentle Couch Stretch - give yourself plenty of space from the couch to get a light stretch but not be uncomfortable

Each of these stretch involves some light dynamic movement to improve mobility for faster recovery.
