Hi everyone, Cam here. Back in 2017 I landed a new job and, with it, a bit of a pay rise. I had £2,500 to spend on a car and there were only two options worth considering: the Ford Fiesta ST150 and Renault Clio 182.

Most people would go for the Clio, because it’s more powerful and lighter than the Fiesta. It also had an incredible chassis, making it a bit of a b-road weapon. The ST, meanwhile, doesn’t really have much on the Clio, so why did I buy one instead of the faster, lighter and better-handling Renault?
