What a joy it is to check in to our magnificent Naksel Boutique Hotel & Spa in Paro, Bhutan. Our incredible room has a view of "Tiger's Nest" Monastery perched up on the cliffs on the side of the opposing mountains. Stunning location and awesome food tonite. May have to visit the spa.
Beautiful view of the mountains the next two mornings. Can see one of the highest snow-covered peaks in Bhutan peaking through the clouds. Hopefully we will be blessed with a sunny day on the day we hike to Tiger's Nest. This video also features some early morning video of Mt. Jolmolhari shining in the sunlight from our hotel as we board the bus to our Tiger's Nest Expedition. Jomolhari or Chomolhari, sometimes known as "the bride of Kangchenjunga”, is a mountain in the Himalayas, straddling the border between Tibet and China. Its altitude is 24, 035 ft. Mountains are considered sacred in Bhutan. Here is a video of our Mt. Jolmolhari sighting at sunrise before attempting to climb Tiger's Nest. Altitude of 24,035. An auspicious sign indeed!
