Britain's Longest COVID Sufferer Gives Kate Garraway a Message of Hope | Good Morning Britain

A London cabbie, who is thought to have spent more time in hospital battling Covid than anyone other than Kate Garraway's husband Derek, is finally back home. 56-year-old cabbie Ali Sakallioglu, is finally back home after spending 222 days in hospital and care. His family were told three times he was going to die, after suffering a heart attack, stroke, collapsed lungs, liver and kidney failure plus sepsis and other infections. The father of five and grandfather of nine beat the virus and returned home on Armistice Day to rapturous applause as neighbours lined the streets to welcome him.
