Kari's Law and Ray Baum's Act compliance with Grandstream UCM6000
Hello and welcome to Grandstream Networks!
With the passing of Kari's Law and Ray Baum's Act in the United States, here's how Grandstream's UCM IPPBX can help you become compliant.
Kari's Law requires multi-line telephone systems to allow distressed callers to dial 9-1-1 without requiring a prefix or a PIN code.
In addition, 9-1-1 calls should be routed directly to emergency services without being intercepted or interrupted.
And finally, when a 9-1-1 call has been made, the telephone system will notify a designated individual.
Grandstream's UCM can help you become compliant with Kari's Law using its robust list of features such as direct routing of 9-1-1 calls, 9-1-1 call prioritization, instant phone and email notifications, redundancy, and auto-record of all calls made to emergency services.
Ray Baum's act requires the multi-line telephone system to provide precise information about the location from where the distress call was made.
The UCM allows you to map entire network segments to utilize a specific emergency location identification number to convey dispatchable locations to emergency services.
Each extension also has the ability to define their emergency caller ID to convey dispatchable information as well as a direct call back number.
