‘I’ll Play for Sweden for as Long as I Can,’ Says Ibrahimovic After Team’s World Cup Exit

Zlatan Ibrahimovic said he is not planning to retire from international football despite Sweden failing to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

"I will continue as long as I can,” the 40-year-old —who is also an AC Milan forward — said after Sweden suffered a 2-0 defeat in their play-off final. Poland’s Robert Lewandowski scored from the penalty spot before teammate Piotr Zielinski's 72nd-minute strike booked the hosts’ spot in Qatar.
