Turning Back the Clock in Cēsis, Latvia | In The Baltics E6

I wanted to get out of Riga and explore some of Latvia's smaller towns and villages so I caught a bus and travelled two hours to Cēsis.

During the middle ages this small town thrived and these days still maintains its impressive medieval castle, 13th century church and some beautiful lakes and parks, one of which is home to some rather unusual black swans. Cēsis proved to be an amazing day trip from the capital and I thoroughly enjoyed learning about such a historically important and picturesque place.
