Tojo Promotes Savage and Brutal Treatment of the Allies

In the military code booklet written in the name of War Minister Hideki Tojo troops were exhorted to never surrender. This, coupled with severe xenophobia and a hatred of other races led to the extremely cruel treatment of prisoners and non-Japanese, as demonstrated in the massacre at Alexandra Hospital in Singapore.
