Life Story of mixed martial artist Khabib Abdulmanapovich Nurmagomedov

1988 — Born in the village of Kirovaul in Kizilyurtovsky District in modern-day Dagestan, Russia

1994 — Began wrestling under the tutelage of his father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov.

1995 — Moved to the state capital Makhachkala in his childhood

1997 — Starting training at Combat Dobro.

1999 — Family again moved to Tsumadinsky District to Kirovaul

2000 — At the age of 12, he trained in wrestling

2001— Father converted the ground floor of their two-story building in to a gym.

2003 — At the age 15 he began training in judo.

2005 — After turning 17, he began training in combat sambo under his father.

2006 — Frequently get into street fights, before focusing his attention to mixed martial arts.

2008 — Made his professional MMA debut.

2008 — In september, he quickly compiled 4 wins in under a month, including 3 wins in the same night. Defeated his 3 opponents at the Moscow event.

2008 — On October 11, Nurmagomedov became the inaugural Atrium Cup tournament champion.

2011 — He would go on to compete for the ProFC promotion. That year alone he had competed in a whopping seven fights, finishing all by TKO or submission.

2012— A perfect 16-0 record in the regional circuits of Russia and Ukraine was enough to get a call from the UFC.

2013— Married in June 2013, and has a daughter. He is a fan of Anzhi Makhachkala football club.

2020 — With 29 wins, he currently holds one of the longest undefeated streaks in MMA history, and is regarded as one of the most skilled grapplers in the lightweight division
2020 — Retired undefeated at the age of 32
