Weave It Up - macraweave wall hangings collection for a month! Both knotting and weaving techniques are applied to flesh out the design. Great opportunity to explore and combine different textile techniques

*** Today's Tutorial - Macraweave Wall Hanging "Forest Silk" ***

** You will need:
- 3mm 3-ply twisted cotton cord - 41m:
- 4 pieces x 2m
- 4 pieces x 2.5m
- 6 pieces x 3m
- 2 pieces x 1m
- 2 pieces x 1.5m
- 1mm jute string - 28m: - 14 x 2m
- 1mm linen string - 28m: - 14 x 2m
1mm waxed cotton string - 28m: - 14 x 2m
*you can use one type of 1mm strings (only jute or only linen) or replaced jute, linen and waxed cotton with 1mm cotton string
- 4mm 3-ply twisted cotton cord - 8m:
- 8 pieces x 1m
(can be replaced with 3mm cord)
2mm braided cotton cord - 23.5m:
- 2 pieces x 3m
- 5 pieces x 2m
- 5 pieces x 0.5m
- 5 pieces x 1m
sari silk or chiffon ribbon - 3 rolls x 6m:
dark green:
- 1 piece x 1.5m
- 2 pieces x 1m
- 3 pieces x 80cm
light green:
- 1 piece x 1.5m
- 6 pieces x 80cm
white:
- 5 pieces x 1m
- 1 piece x 80cm
*You can use cords and ribbon/chiffon/silk of any color. Usually, macraweaving uses a neutral base color (off white) and the colors of all other elements as you prefer. Also, you can use braided cord instead of 3-ply etc.
