He Survived a Terrible Crime, His Family Did Not | Survivor Stories

On August 14, 2002, 12-year-old Larry “LJ” Bobish Jr. was the lone survivor of a brutal attack that took the lives of his father, mother and sister. An associate of LJ’s father through the drug trade shot and stabbed LJ before setting the home on fire, leaving him for dead. LJ managed to pull himself out of the smoke-filled home, collapsing in the driveway, where Pennsylvania State Police Corporal Andre Stevens came to his aide.

Now, in an emotional reunion, LJ and Corporal Stevens see each other for the first time since 2004 and recount how that one day in August forever altered both men’s lives.
