Watching your kids be successful at it is better than anything, especially out moose hunting. Our daughter just turned 15 and she’s been begging to go moose hunting with her dad. He told her it wouldn’t be easy and she had to pull her own weight. She agreed she would.

Well, she put in the treacherous work of a 4 mile moose stalk, with Adam step for step, and her first moose turned out to be a dinosaur.

73” wide and scores 254 3/8 🤯 (the worlds largest moose for a Youth in the B&C book is 236 6/8)

She dumped him at 380 yards. Then walked up to him 2 yards away when he was still kicking and she finished him off calmly with the 338 and a lollipop in her mouth. She’s one impressive young woman.

She has now surpassed both Adam and I in the moose books, and I’m pretty sure we have ruined her for life, ha ha!

She definitely won’t forget her first moose hunt with her dad. I was thrilled that I got to fly in and help her pack it out. When I was carrying a front quarter and she had a 60 lb pack on her little body she asked me “how do you guys just do this all the time? It’s just so hard.”

I told her nothing worth achieving in life comes easy. We work hard for everything. Getting meat for our whole family for a whole year takes a lot of hard work, and you just do it. Every pack makes you stronger. By the end of it she said “the packing part was hard but still kinda fun.” She’s definitely our daughter.

We couldn’t be more proud of the little go getter she is! She could be sitting at home scrolling tik toks like all of her peers but instead, she’s out there hunting and providing, and challenging her mind and body while doing it. I’m one proud mama 🙌🏼!!!
