What's a "PTC Thermister" - sponsored by Solderstick Wire Connectors
In this video we take a look at the Positive Temperature Coefficient Thermistor. This small fuse like device is able to vary its resistance based upon the amount of current flowing through it. When it reaches a set point known as the Currie Temperature, it goes super-high resistance and cuts power to the circuit. When it cools down, it resets and behaves as a resistor once again.
