Ham Radio Go Box

Since looking and organizing my radio go-box. I came to the conclusion fast that these go-boxes are not necessarily a "grab and go-box" where you can reach for your ham gear and get out the door quickly. Make no mistake, these boxes are heavy and bulky. Nevertheless, these all-in-one radio centers are perfect for semi-permanent locations such as inside an RV, within a corner of a room such as a man-cave, a workshop, or garage and for a portable outing in back of a pickup truck or SUV. Although the bulkiness and weight are a no-go, Boxes like the Gator Box do offer the advantage of having the front and rear panels open for proper airflow and closing of the panels to keep dust and moisture out. A more realistic go-box solution would simply be to have a backpack having a QRP radio, dipole, coax and battery.
