We continue in the footsteps of the 200 communist heroes

On 25 April 2026, beside the bloodstained wall at the Kaisariani Shooting Range —where, on May Day 1944, the Nazi occupiers executed 200 communists— a mass political rally of the KKE took place, followed by a concert featuring songs of struggle. Red flags fluttered, conveying a signal, a message, and a promise, paying tribute to the 200 executed —members and cadres of the KKE, leaders of the working class. The majority had been imprisoned in the 1930s, during a period of bourgeois parliamentary democracy, as well as under the dictatorship from 1936 onwards, prior to the Nazi occupation.
The event followed the first-ever release of photographs from the execution, depicting the communists’ courageous stance in the face of death.
