Plastic wrap alternative for sticking napkins to paper

I received a comment on a Facebook post about the environmental impact of using plastic wrap to adhere paper napkins to cardstock to be used in my junk journals. Well I got to thinking about what alternative I may have in the house instead of the 10-year old roll of cling film that I have. This is one of many different ideas that were given to me but the only one I had in the house.
