From Russia to Ukraine: FRANCE 24 report on the one border crossing point • FRANCE 24 English

With Ukraine’s counteroffensive failing so far to liberate much territory, huge swathes of the South and East of the country remain under Russian occupation. If the Russians let people leave these areas at all, it’s only into Russia. To get to Ukraine they can either go via a third country, or via one border crossing in the northeast of the country. Though it’s not officially open, the crossing point is in use, and border guards say up to 120 people use it daily – a number that is increasing. FRANCE 24’s Gulliver Cragg reports.
