CarPlay on Raspberry Pi (raspbian, not android): work in progress
Work in progress on my CarPlay receiver app for Linux. This is based on the incredible work of electric-monk on GitHub, who created the original pycarplay project in 2019.
Why plain Linux and not just use android? The main purpose of having a semi-native Linux solution is:
- to be able to use TV output modes on the pi to drive composite video. Currently none of the android solutions do this
- to be able to use SocketCan (in particular the pican2) to receive messages from the headunit and pass to carplay. Github: https://github.com/harrylepotter/carplay-receiver
