The Wilted Sunflowers - Super Mario Sunshine 100% Guide

In this episode of the Shine Guide, we take on The Wilted Sunflowers—a quick and quirky shine found in the beach section of Pinna Park. If you accidentally head into the amusement park for this one, turn around—it all takes place out on the sand.

When you arrive, you’ll find a bunch of giant Yoshi egg-looking things and a bunch of sad, wilted sunflowers. Spray the eggs and out pop these bizarre turtle enemies. Bait them into body slamming the sand, dodge out of the way, and ground pound their soft bellies once they’re stuck. Each one you defeat revives a sunflower and adds a few smaller ones to the field for good measure.

Pro tip: they have to land in the sand to get stuck—if they hit the grass, they’ll just bounce right back up. Also: standing in the middle of revived sunflowers is strangely satisfying. Highly recommend.
