This highway starts from Karachi, then passes through Hyderabad and Nawabshah to reach Sukkur. From there, it goes through Sahiwal to Lahore, then through Gujranwala, Jhelum, and Rawalpindi, reaching Peshawar, and finally ends at the Torkham border.

Its full name is the N-5 National Highway, and it is approximately 1,819 kilometers long.
