Ques-14 (English) Can You Design a Network for a Small Office? | Interview Preparation Series
Interview Question #14 – Small Office Network Design
In this video, we answer a very common network engineer interview question:
👉 Can you design a network for a small office of 50 people? If yes, what would be your approach?
Instead of jumping directly into routers and switches, I explain how a good network engineer should THINK first.
In this session, you will learn:
1. Why requirement gathering is the first and most important step
2. What questions to ask the interviewer before starting the design
3. How to design a real-world small office network
4. Access layer, distribution layer and firewall placement
5. VLANs, IP addressing, DHCP and basic routing (conceptually)
6. Wired vs wireless design (without WLC)
7. Internet redundancy using two ISPs
8. How to design a simple, scalable and budget-friendly network
9. What interviewers actually look for in your answer
This video is not about configurations or commands.
It is about design mindset, approach, and clear thinking — exactly what interviewers expect
This video is useful for:
Network engineering freshers
Job switchers
CCNA / interview preparation
Anyone who wants to understand network design from scratch
