The festival was organized by Bengal Foundation at Bengal Shilpalay to celebrate the arrival of the Bengali New Year 1421. Set to the traditional Kirtan style, the artist's soulful rendition adds a profound depth to this timeless melody.

Written by Rabindranath Tagore in 1927 at Shantiniketan, this masterpiece belongs to the 'Prem' (Love) category and 'Prem-Boichitra' (Nuances of Love) sub-category.

The song delves deep into the spirit of absolute self-surrender. In the sacred moment of offering oneself to love, nothing remains old or worn out; instead, everything is reborn anew through the joy of sacrifice. রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের এই গানটি তাঁর 'প্রেম' পর্যায়ের এবং 'প্রেম-বৈচিত্র' উপ-পর্যায়ের অন্তর্ভুক্ত। ১৯২৭ সালে শান্তিনিকেতনে রচিত এই গানে কবি এক গভীর আত্মনিবেদনের কথা বলেছেন। প্রেমের কাছে নিজেকে সমর্পণ করার মুহূর্তে কোনো কিছুই পুরনো থাকে না; বরং ত্যাগের মধ্য দিয়ে তা চিরনতুন রূপ লাভ করে। ঝরনার অবিরাম ধারা বা মাধবীকুঞ্জের পুষ্পমঞ্জরীর মতো প্রেমিকের আত্মদানও প্রতি মুহূর্তে নতুন ও অফুরন্ত। প্রিয়তমের প্রেমে সিক্ত হয়ে কবির সকল কাজ ও ভাবনায় এক সুমধুর এবং অক্ষয় সুর ধ্বনিত হয়েছে।
