Despite the fact that Cyprus is a fairly small island, you can see many natural monuments, temples of Ancient Greece, Byzantine monasteries or Gothic cathedrals on it, and visit all this on a single trip. It is worth noting the old quarter of Nicosia, where all the main important sights of the country are collected.

1. Palace of the Archbishop. This seat of the head of the local church is in Nicosia with a museum, library, art gallery and cathedral.
2. Caravan Saray Buyuk Khan. The significant building of Nicosia, which appeared under the Ottoman Turks in the 16th century, and already in the 20th century, thanks to a global reconstruction, turned into an arts center.
3. Ayia Napa Monastery. Located near the coast of Ayia Napa, it was founded in the 15th century and has survived to this day almost unchanged.
4. Museum of the Sea "Thalassa". It is one of the main educational and cultural buildings in Cyprus with displays of marine themes.

In the country, you can travel by intercity buses, and around the cities - by municipal buses and minibuses. Guests are offered a choice of hotels at any desired level and financial capabilities. The monetary unit is Euro. It is more profitable and safer to exchange money in banks rather than with individuals, since banknotes, especially large ones, are often counterfeited. The most popular goods among tourists here are wine and liquor, as well as handmade silver, various paintings, genuine leather goods, high-quality jewelry and fur coats. From souvenirs, statuettes of the goddess Aphrodite, dolls in national costumes or models of ships are especially eagerly purchased. If you want something unusual from food, guests are offered halloumi goat cheese or brick sweets - delight, halva or almonds in grape molasses. The brick cuisine here is full of meat, fish and vegetable dishes, but the most popular is "meze", a set menu, ranging from appetizers and salads to more hearty meat and fish dishes. In general, Cyprus is safe enough for travel and recreation, however basic precautions should be followed, not to walk alone on the streets at night and not to carry large amounts of money with you.
