Turning a Taper using the Monarch Taper Attachment Part 1

This is a two part series about the use of the taper attachment on the Monarch lathe. John Saunders of NYC CNC asked me if I'd be interested in making a custom tapered mandrel for him which turned out to be a great job to show and talk about tapers and using the taper attachment on the lathe.
In this first video i go over the taper attachment on my Monarch lathe, and then I get it set and indicated to the required .900" taper per foot.
I also start the machining of the mandrel in the Victor lathe getting one end turned and the centers drilled.
