TEMPLO DE AMÓN-RA EN LUXOR
El templo de Luxor estaba unido al de Karnak por una avenida de esfinges y capillas en las que paraban las barcas sagradas durante la fiesta de Opet.

GRAN PILONO
El Gran Pilono es obra de Ramsés II. Originalmente, estaba adornado con dos obeliscos pero uno de ellos fue trasladado a la Plaza de la Concordia de París en 1836.

Seis estatuas presidían la entrada. Se conservan los dos colosos de Ramsés II y la estatua de su hija Meritamón.

PATIO DE RAMSÉS II
Recostado sobre la pared derecha del Gran Pilono, se halla el santuario con las capillas de la tríada tebana: los dioses Amón, Mut y Khons.

El patio se encuentra rodeado por setenta y cuatro columnas repartidas en dos hileras. Entre ellas, se alzan enormes estatuas del faraón junto a otras divinidades del Antiguo Egipto.

Al final del patio, dos estatuas sedentes de Ramsés II preceden la gran columnata procesional, obra de Amenofis III.

PATIO SOLAR DE AMENOFIS III
Situado tras la columnata, el patio se funde por uno de sus laterales con la sala hipóstila, desprovista hoy de su techo original.

SALA HIPÓSTILA
Obra de Amenofis III, conducía a otra sala que la legión romana en Luxor transformó en capilla para el culto al emperador.

SALAS INTERIORES
Cierran el templo el sancta santorum de la estatua de Amón y la sala de ofrendas en cuyos relieves se representa a Alejandro Magno como faraón.

TEMPLE OF AMÓN-RA IN LUXOR
The temple of Luxor was united to the one of Karnak by an avenue of sphinxes and chapels in which they stopped the sacred boats during the party of Opet.

GREAT PILON
The Great Pilono is the work of Ramesses II. Originally, it was adorned with two obelisks but one of them was transferred to the Place de la Concorde in Paris in 1836.

Six statues presided over the entrance. The two colossi of Ramesses II and the statue of his daughter Meritamon are preserved.

PATIO OF RAMSÉS II
Lying on the right wall of the Great Pilonus, is the shrine with the chapels of the Theban triad: the gods Amon, Mut and Khons.

The courtyard is surrounded by seventy-four columns divided into two rows. Among them, huge statues of the pharaoh stand next to other divinities of Ancient Egypt.

At the end of the courtyard, two seated statues of Ramses II precede the great processional colonnade, work of Amenofis III.

AMENOFIS SOLAR PATIO III
Located behind the colonnade, the courtyard merges on one of its sides with the hypostyle room, now devoid of its original ceiling.

HYPOTHIC ROOM
Work of Amenofis III, it led to another room that the Roman legion in Luxor transformed into chapel for the cult to the emperor.
