Wa'ahila Ridge Trail hike in Honolulu, HI
The Wa’ahila Ridge Trail is located in the State of Hawaii on the Island of Oahu. The trail begins at the back of Wa‘ahila Ridge State Recreation Area within ironwood and guava trees.
The trail is a 2.4 mile out/back trail atop the Wa’ahila Ridge. It gradually ascends up and offers views of Manoa Valley, Palolo Valley, Honolulu and the Ko‘olau Range.
About 1 1/4 miles in the trail “Technically” ends at the intersection of the Kolowalu Trail and signs are posted NOT to go beyond this intersection and up to the summit of Mt. Olympus. The State DNR site warns that this is a Restricted Watershed Area. Adventure seekers can choose to go beyond signs indicating the trails end and climb the summit of Mt. Olympus.
