Six hours of nothing in the deep, then a switch to the inshore reefs flips the day. Jigging fun on the boat with Bashford Charters with a brand new species caught on jig!

Faf and Justin head out with Craig Bashford for a deep-sea charter, targeting couta on live bait and some kingies on the jigs. Bonnies aplenty on the deeper reefs and the live wells fill fast.

Then comes the wait. Hours out in the deep with prime live bait and not a sniff, just sharks circling the lines and taxing the boys. A call gets made to pull off the deep and run inshore for a different game. The inshore reefs change the day.

Justin hooks up first on the new ground and brings a solid yellowspot kingfish over the side. Faf and Craig follow on the Shimano jigging combo, working a deep beat that pays off. Two kingies on the deck, a small shark hooked and released. Then Faf gets the catch of the day, a snoek on the jig! First time catching one of these on this set up. The boys wrap up and ride home with the sky low over the wash.
