伝統的な方法でつくられる「縁付箔」と比較して、「断切箔」は「現代箔」とも言われています。

There are several types of Kanazawa metal leaf, depending on the manufacturing method and their material. “Modern gold leaf” is one of them.
This video tells a story of an artisan's life. Mr. TAKASAKI Tatsuo had dedicated his life to making metal leaf.

“Modern gold leaf" method was developed to meet the demand for mass production in the 1960s.
The name “modern gold leaf" is meant to contrast with traditional methods that have a history of more than 400 years.
