How To Dress Off Road Tires - Toyota 4runner

Applying a tire shine or dressing on your off road tires can be annoying sometimes. Mud tires and even aggressive All Terrain tires tend to have big meaty side lugs that love to chew up your foam applicator. I've experimented with many different products and methods and this 2 step process seems to work the best for me.

Products used:
Meguiar's Super Degreaser
Tire brush
Poorboy's Bold n Bright Tire gel
Stiff bristled brush
Same tire gel diluted with water in spray bottle
Foam applicator

Start with the spray bottle and brush on the outside of the tire and work your way in. Once you're past the side lugs and on the smooth section, switch to the thicker gel and foam applicator. Once it dries, it might not look great - there might be uneven coverage or streaks, so just come back with a quick spray on the brush (not the tire) and/or an extra dot on your applicator.

Less is more in this case. Keep building it up gradually until you get the desired look rather than slathering it on thick the first time - that's how you get sling onto your paint. Keep it thin and even!
