In this video, I'll show you my first experience with Make.com's new AI agent feature. I was curious to see if it could compete with other tools like N8N, so I decided to dive in and test it out. I created an AI agent that specializes in crafting fictional stories with life lessons, and I set up a couple of tools—like a character development framework and a narrative arc designer—to see how it performs.

I walked through the process of setting up the agent, adding tools, and running a test scenario to generate a story about a 30-year-old male. While the process was straightforward, I noticed it took a bit longer than expected to execute, and I didn’t get as much detail or flexibility as I’m used to with other tools. For example, creating feedback loops or refining outputs on the fly wasn’t as seamless as I’d hoped.

I also explored Make.com’s scenario inputs and outputs feature, which they mentioned in a recent email. Honestly, it didn’t feel like a groundbreaking addition since similar functionality has been available for a while through webhooks. Overall, while it’s great to see Make.com introducing AI agents, I’m not convinced it’s ready to replace other tools just yet. It’s still in beta, so there’s room for improvement, but for now, I’ll stick with what I know works.
