Croatan Sound, to Roanoke Island: Manteo and Wanchese, then over to the Outer Banks, Scenic drive 4K

This drive takes you across Croatan Sound onto Roanoke Island on US 64 (the bypass route -- the more northern bridge that carries original US 64 was under repair during my trip). I drove up to the northern end of Roanoke Island, through Manteo, to see the sunset at Pineapple Beach. Then I drove back down through Manteo, and over the bridge to Nags Head on the Outer Banks. I drove just a bit of 158, then NC 12, and returned to Roanoke Island, where I drove south through Wanchese before returning to my accommodation in Manteo.

I made this trip in August 2024.
