Cutting Coconut Lumber

It is fascinating to see how accurately a chain saw operator can cut lumber. In America we are used to lumber that is exact and uniform. here a 2x4 might be 2"x4" or anything close. But the boards, often 12 feet will be very close to the same dimension the entire length. This same technique is used on all timber. From the beautiful Philippine Mahogany to the humble coco lumber.
And notice the safety equipment. Or rather that lack thereof.
This lumber was used to build the temporary housing and office for the building project on this site. Sixty trees were cut down to make room for the building and the parking lot.
