In front of 34,212 in San Salvador, El Salvador's Estadio Cuscatlan, Club Deportivo FAS defeated Club Deportivo Aguila in Penalty kick shootouts, 5-3, to win the 2003 Apertura El Salvador Championship. Many consider this final to be the best final in modern Salvadoran Football history after Williams Reyes scored a bicycle kick/chilena in the very last seconds of overtime possible to send the game to Penalties, what is now known as 'EL GOL DEL MILAGRO!'
