Documentary Rig for Panasonic GH5 | Featuring Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8

I've been filiming with the GH5 for a few years now and figured I'd share my handheld rig setup. It's still being refined, but it's close to perfect for my workflow. After shopping around for cameras recently, I believe the GH5 is still one of the best value cameras you can get today for documentary work.

One of the core pieces of this setup is the Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8. I really believe this is the best lens for documentary work on the M43 system. Most people recommend the Panny 12-35, but I dislike that lens for one main reason: focus by wire. When you pull back the focus ring of the Oly, it switches to a linear focus mode, with a distance scale and hard stops for close focus and inifinity.

The main draw back I've found for this lens, that I don't mention is that due to back focus differences between multiple bodies, the infinity hard stop is actually beyond infinity on the GH5, so you can't completely trust the mechanics and will need to visually check your focus accuracy.
